Falling Short.
That's what I've been feeling lately - that I fall short of every expectation put before me.
I've never been a people-pleaser, I've never really cared what people think of me. So I guess this is not about the fear of "what would people think of me". But its more of feeling bad about myself. Yeah, I guess you could call this a pity party. It's kinda weird you know. I'm not used to this.
Maybe God is teaching me something here. Something that I have to learn. Maybe it's the fact that I have ALWAYS fallen short.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
~Romans 3:23
I guess it's a reminder that I do not deserve the blessings the Lord has showered upon me, and that I truly stand only by God's grace. It's humbling. Truly humbling.
"Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who are wise. And he chose those whoare powerless to shame the powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important, so that no on ecan ever boast in the presence of God.
God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit, God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom. As the Scriptures say, 'The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done.'"
1 Corinthians 1:26-31
